A round for the house please.

I took the Ultra into the dealership today to have them look at the
front tire. To make a long story short, HD customer no service said
they wouldn't do anything. I wasn't mad, just disappointed and told
them as much. At that point the service manager called them back at my
behalf. Finally I was told that they would give me a tire at half
price and labor at half price. I ended up paying a buck and a half for
getting a new tire. I guess I'm supposed to feel good about it. I was
gonna buy a new tire anyway because I felt this was starting to get
unsafe. I think the dealer did all they could, and even went above and
beyond in my behalf.

And THAT was 1/2 price?????

The Dunlop E3  on my Ultra ran me $99, and $20 for mounting.......which was
"full price".

The rear E3 ran me $118, $20 for mounting........and I'm sure some folks here
got better deals than that.

Ouch......

Roger M. sed:

What part, the price or the labor?
Labor for having a tire mounted and balanced
(off the bike) is $20 for me (indy shop), $35 at the dealer.

The indy shop is about 80 miles away:
Reiss Cycle
4685 Lehigh Dr # 3
Walnutport, PA 18088
(610) 760-0557?

My friend has a custom bike shop just around the corner from the Indy
place, so it's easy for me to use his shop to pull the wheels, and it's
a nice ride in the PA countryside to get there.

Also, the indy shop owner is a rider, not just a poser.  I've never seen
a guy with a shop ride as far as this guy does in a year.  The plus side
is his son mostly runs the shop now, so he can afford to take the time
off when all the other owners are working at their busiest time.

Most shop owners don't get to ride, they are chained to the shop.
