Shirley, please get a double round fer the place, woodja?
I'm prob'ly gonna regret askin' the patrons for their opinions <sfsf>
(hmm, mebbe if I'm specific?) ....here goes....
It's time for a new cam in the ol' Shovel, I'm leanin' heavily towards
the Andrews AB grind at this point, and I guess I need a little
affirmation of my choice...
Bike info:
E79 FLH 1200 (+.040)
stock heads with no clearance work done to 'em (so big lift cams are
out....for now)
stock carb (I know, I know, but I'm looking at the adjustable main jet
Bendix carb or a Super E as a future purchase)
points ignition
SO, what cam do you guys think I ought to stick in there?

What do you ultimately want as the end result?
In other words, where/what do you want the "performance" of the new
parts to attenuate?
Torque/HP/Efficiency?
At what RPM?
And if yer going to change other important criteria that effects the
intake charge/velocity at a later date, then that adds to the confusion
of the equation, and choices.

There was an Andrews "A" in mine when I got it . Swapped it out for a "J"
, and I couldn't be happier . Gives me a lot of low end grunt , and cruises
nicely at 3200+- RPM's on the highway (around 70 mph with my gearing) . Also
running KB 8.5:1's , solid lifters , a 40 mm SE butterfly carb (it's really
a Keihin...) with K&N filter and straight thru mufflers .
I've got all the bagger stuff , if you're stripped down you might like the
"A" better .

I don't know. Some scruffy ol' biker sent me an "A" grind in the
mail. I swapped out my S&S 514 for that and now I, too couldn't be
happier. Oh, and my bike weighs more than his...especially with me on
it.
I'd offer you the 514, but it requires head work to run. Oughta be a
fun cam to run on a lighter bike, though.

My google searches over the last year found a lot of rave reviews for
Leineweber cams
http://www.leinewebercams.com/SHOVELHEAD%20&%20PANHEAD%20CAMS.htm
I was looking at their L3S for the FXR
