I tore into my 75 ShovelHead only to find she had 41/2 Truette and
Osburne flywheels. So I rebuilt the whole baby with, 0.60 S&S forged
pistons, cylinders are original, high lift and long duration cam 475
lift, ported heads (original), all new valves, guides the works,
PowerGlide II hydrolic lifters, tappets, push rods, new works in the
rocker boxes, Timken bearings, the works. I have an S&S Super E carb
that does okay, but, is there a better set up that any knowledgable
mechanics suggest that would be better? A CV Harley carb? Oh yes I
live at 5,000ft above sea level if that helps.
Thank you,
KC

I live at sea level and routinely ride over the
passes on my '69 Shovel. The first thing I'm doing
this winter is setting up a Keihin CV to replace
the S&S on it now.
