Handfuls of cash on the bar. Brought a bag beer nuts too. Everyone help
yerself.
I'm buying chrome controls and cables for my '84 FXWG, collecting
everything piece by piece from eBay. Am having a hard time finding
throttle/idle cables @ 33" (stock length). The sets I come across are
always 6" over stock. (What's with all the 5 and 6-inch longer cables?
All for custom jobs?) My question is, how would 38-inch throttle/idle
cables look? I'm afraid they'd bow way out from the grip and look
stupid. I think I've seen bikes before with cables that were too long
and I wondered why they put them on ... I don't wanna be one of those
people. :) ... or would an extra 5-inches not be as dramatic as I'm
thinking?

What's so stupid looking about that?

Too late! It's not gonna look any worse than having all that chrome crap on
there anyway. Beuty is in the eye of the poser, I guess.

Not even going there.
Seriously, having too long of cables could cause binding, especially with
some of those cheap aftermarket e-bay sales.

My bike is an 84 as stated. "Chrome crap" is going to look a helluva lot
nicer than the stock crap that's on there now. Particularly the rusted
brake/throttle/idle hardware and the worn black controls.

Glad to know... FTR though, I'm not buying cheap stuff but neither am I
wasting money on Biker Build Off parts. Barnett cables and Custom Chrome
controls, everything new in box/packaging. Just cheaper than the dealer.

At the risk of stating the obvious... go buy them from a dealer.
