Oh wait, the Brembo brakes I was working on are attached to my Ural, not a
Harley, my bad. A round of drinks to make up for my faux pas. nyuk nyuk

Anyway, after 13,000 miles I decided to replace the front brake pads, I
happened to pick a set up while getting a tire last week from the Ural
dealer. I noticed this week that the old ones started to squeak a little,
so I figure there must not have been much life left in them, or they were
already passed due (or is that past due).
Inside the brake with one of the pads removed, it's a nice spot for salt and
crude to get in:

Here's the back of one of the old pads and a new one. The original Brembo
pad had the part numbers stamped into it from the looks of it, the new ones
(made in the UK) just have them inked on. From the looks of the original
ones, I won't be reading the part number off the new ones when I pull them
out.

And now for a look at the other side.

There wasn't much pad left, these shots might give you a better idea of how
far I stretched these out.

Everything back in place.

A pretty quick and easy job, although I didn't replace the brake fluid so
there was no bleeding of brakes and refilling involved. I'll see how they
work before taking that step and if they don't feel spongy then I leave it
for a bit.
