I think it's a waste of money . Take a very good body man to iron out the
wrinkles on that one .

Good idea, & you're off to a good start.  Right at the front!
Pickup each part in order & bolt 'em together as-is as they come in.
Never see another like it when you're done............8^)

Where were you years a go when I brought forth a plan for all the people
here to send their worn out, beat to crap and non-usable parts to a central
location for assembly. We then could sell it to a newbe and pass the funds
to EK? Even the spark plugs had to be crap. (BTW- Why do I save those, I got
a box full of them.)
Think of it, you buy a bike and every mother of God part is broke, bent, and
flat ass worn out and need to replace. We could have had Panhead throw in
one of his bright lemmon yellow paint jobs right over the dents and rusted
out places on the tank and fenders.

IMOO, You just got to have something to do besides spending the time to
unbreak the broken. Even if you bob the fender and beat out the dents.
sandblasting, bondo, primmer, sand, and paint this one fender, you could
shoot the shit out of a weekend or two. Take up fishing instead.

Now, save up your lunch money and pick up a used rebuild project.
Stay a way from wrecks because of hidden things that could haunt you {Bent
frames, etc}that will keep from them from ever being what they use to
be.(High speed wobbles, weird wear patterns)
On the rebuild projects, stay away from outside damaged engine
parts.(cracked housings, ect.). Stick with simple low compression, worn
bearings. Things that you can hold over the sellers head but still things
that you can fix with the help of a local machine shop. (cylinder
rebores,ect.)
When buying used engine parts, Remember this one thing, when Good Old Boy
Don T. takes off a part and put it in a box, there is a reason that I paid
good money for a new one to replace it.
Most boxes of used engine parts you pick up at swap meets are suitable for
troutline weights and not putting back on a bike unless you really know your
bike parts and what is usable or not.

Don T.- But then again, I have had great enjoyment in buying someone's
nightmare project, putting it back together and then driving it pass their
house how they are in the front yard.
