...I'm still really enjoying the hell outta my bike, and I intend to
ride it again first thing tomorrow morning.
Oh crap, um, drinks on me if you're still drinking this late. I was
having dinner with friends tonight, (wife's birthday) and someone who
had never ridden asked me what I saw in it. I said, well, my current
bike (show him picture of Ultra Classic on my phone) is the most
recent in a long list, starting when I was twelve and dirt bikes were
relatively uncomplicated, but let's speak just to the current one.
Ok, you've been in a barcolounger? Ok. Imagine a barcolounger that
can negotiate the hills at 80 miles per hour. A barcolounger that's
as fun to sit in as the Fire Dragon at Universal Studios theme park.
Imagine the most fun you've ever had with your clothes on, and double
it. It's like that. It's like having a roller coaster that starts in
your driveway and ends in your work parking lot and you get to drive
it every day. It's like that. It's like... you ever seen Soul
Surfer? (Good movie, by the way.) It's like that. Girl gets arm
bitten off by shark on surf board, wakes up in hospital, first
question is "when can I surf again?" It's like that.
By the end of the evening I had him almost convinced to test-drive
one. He said when I have time, could I drive the bike over so he
could look at it? Hell yes.
