just went "flat"
before i dig in... any ideas on what to expect.
been along time since i bled, etc....
but what would cause brakes to just "go to the floor"??

air
no fluid
How long since you've ridden the FXR? Sitting for a long time?
Any brake fluid around where it's been sitting?
Time to bleed... baby, bleed.
But, you already knew that.
You just didn't want to believe it.

Or you lost a nut on the linkage...
Butt, I think you'd know that since the feeling would be a tad different
on the pedal.

Or, even though it is somewhat rare.
The piston seal is no longer holding pressure and is bleeding back into the
reservoir.
Don T. - Just in case bleeding doesn't work.

My pedal went all the way down one day. I checked the reservoir and it was
bone dry.
I added fluid and pumped it up. Drove around for a while, maybe weeks. Heard
what sounded to me like a brake pad warning indicator scraping somewhere.
Figured it was the rear, since the front pads looked okay.
I pulled the caliper and checked the pads. There was (very) little pad left.
So I replaced them. I had to push the piston back into the caliper to get it
over the new pads, but it wouldn't budge. It occurred to me that the lines
were now full, the reservoir was now full, and the piston was now full.
I opened up the reservoir and pushed the piston in. The fluid came all the
way to the top of the reservoir, and I had to take some out to keep it from
overflowing all over the place.
Just a thought....
