Greetings and salutations.... Shirley, let the whole bar partake on my
tab... coffee for me thanks.

I let my beloved go yesterday to a fella who bought it for a buddy as a
gift, so they could tour and do their motorcycle ministry. (to each their
own <shrug>) Tom and I expressed our genuine concern that they both take a
MSF course as they are both middle aged and used to ride dirt bikes when
they were younger, but he felt they didn't need it <heavy sigh>. I wish my
new bike owner all the best and I hope he takes care of her as well as I
did, and has the wisdom to realize he needs to take the frikkin MSF course.

Movin on...

Couldn't sleep at all last night. The anticipation of a picking up my new
bike today made my mind race with some thoughts I never had before... Will
it be too big? <Nope> What if it vibrates too much? <No problemo> How
drastic will the difference be between my Virago and the new Sporty <Not
that much different>

So we went to the dealer this morning and said Good Morning to the SM and
took off to find my new scoot, I couldn't find her, looked again, no bike,
asked the wrench guy, he said she's right there... looked like a different
bike, it looked bigger with the bags, windshield, and engine guards on. Love
at second sight, yepper! Tom put the LP on and they brought her out, to
explain what I needed to know, went in and did the paperwork... ran into a
co-worker buying some do-dad for one of his many scoots and showed him my
new bike... he said "maybe I ought to look at getting a new one too" must
be something in the air over there in Mantua!

Everyone at the dealer was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful,
especially the mechanic, he gave me some useful tips, so did the SM, and
Jane Carlton was so nice and gave me pretty good deal IMHO, no freight,
$500. off MSRP, free first service, free shirt... and hopefully a future
business resource. Good deal!

Ok it's time to go now, I have all my stuff, pack it in the saddlebags that
look big on the outside, but are limited in space on the inside, oh well.
Fire it up, go around the parking lot, a bit nervous, I'm ok though. We are
on the road, go down the road a bit, try the horn, it's loud, Tom even heard
it ahead of me and slowed down, say by to Tom, off to work he goes. I rode
around a bit to get the feel of my first Harley, I need to get new pipes, ya
can't hardly hear it!! I love it, she handles like a dream, she's so smooth.
The only draw back I can feel is the shifter seems rather close to the
footpeg, same with the brake pedal, I guess I can get used to it. ;-) After
about 100 miles, I started getting a bit tired and decided I better go home
and take a break, after almost no sleep last night, and after that, I think
I'll have to take her out again this evening! I'll post some pics next door
later.

If'n ya held with me this long, have another on me. I think it's time for a
nap.
