Hello,
I've been a long time lurker and appreciate the wisdom here and would like
to pose a question. ( I normally don't chime in since there are people here
with a hell of a lot more knowledge about these bikes than me)
I have an '03 FLHRI and I just experienced the rear cylinder header pipe
cracking. The mount under the trans is broken and missing a bolt. I suspect
that caused the problem of too much vibration and the cracking. I plan on
having the cracks welded and repairing the mount by welding it and replacing
the missing bolt. My question is, since I have it all apart, is there any
benefit to using header wrap on the pipes and then re-mounting he heat
sheilds to dissipate some of the under the seat heat?
I think I remember the exhaust wrap being discussed long ago, but I think it
was regarding the performance aspect of it.
I'm just thinking that during the hot months here in Texas, the wrap might
be useful.
Anyone done this? And is it worth the time or are there possible problems I
might run into that I am not thinking about?
I appreciate any thoughts on this.

Have you had your FI tuned?
Any changes to breathing ability, air filter, mufflers?
