Is it my imagination or is dear skin warmer than cow hide? I bought a
pair of unlined deerskin work gloves last summer to replace the $6 cow
hide pair that were falling apart after only 2 years. Since it warmed
up to 40F today and I was sick of wearing those bulky insulated gloves,
I rode home from work in the deerskins. Not bad at all. My fingers would
have been numb time I got home in the cowhide gloves at 50F, but with
deerskin at 40F my fingers only started to tingle. The deerskin is
softer too. And only $12 at Bi-Mart. Why wasn't I informed sooner?

If it's yer imagination then it's contagious. Deer skin gloves also don't
stiffen up when they dry after getting wet.
I bought a pair about 4 years ago a bit too small. After a while they
stretched out and now fit like a second skin.
I usually wear mine unless it's below freezing. Even then I'll switch to
lined deerskin unless it's raining.
When are you getting your Road Glide? ;-)

Didn't know that deerskin would be warmer, but I'm gonna get some
for m'self. Two reasons:
1. My hands apparently will be warmer.
2. They gotta kill a deer to make the gloves, so there is one less
stupid deer to leap out in front of me on the highway.
Thanks for the info on the gloves.
