People really aren't observant are they? Stopped at a laundry the other
day. The attendent went out and looked the bike over, she spent about ten
minutes at it, oohing and aahing. My hemet is in the sidecar on the seat
with the H-D decal facing up.
"Hey mister, what kind of bike is that"? So I told her it was an AMF
Harley-Davidson. She realy didn't know after looking at the bike closely and
talking to me for awhile. My bike must say Harley-Davidson on it in at
least ten places. Lets see, Each side of the Fairing, and the nose of the
fairing, across the center of the dash. The gas tank says AMF
Harley-Davidson on both sides. H-D decals on each side of the tourpak.
Sidecar has a metalplate the says H-D on the rear, nose of sidecar has the
Bar&Shield, right side of Sidecar says H-D. ... Oh yeah so does the breaker
cover. So did the shirt I was wearing also. But she honestly did not know
what kind of bike it was, maybe couldn't read?

That's kinda what I was thinking. Maybe she wanted a ride. Maybe she
wanted a ride on the bike. Hell maybe she was just bored of sitting in
hot-sweaty Laundromat and was just tickled pink that she had someone to talk
to. Then again maybe she was asking what model and not what make. After
all you really don't see that many old bright orange Tourglides with a hack.
But that's just my observation.

(snipped)
I have had an Indian light on my front fender of almost all my
dressers. It's in honor of my father who taught me to ride on his '51
Chief.
I overheard one guy tell his wife " "That's a Harley-Indian". Made me
real proud..... and Dad would have split a rib laughing.
Ride safe!
