ok while you ponder my question and think of an answer for me, plastic is on
the bar so get your flavor...
A friend that is a new biker dropped her bike in her gravel driveway and
damaged some of her chrome but more important she broke the bottom corner of
her windshield a sliver that extends about 10 inches up the side.
She showed me it last night(on cam) she is going to drive to my house
Thursday (200 miles away) and would like to clean the edge up... make it a
little more graceful and do the same cut on the other side. I have a bunch
of tools I can use to do this. I was thinking of putting some masking tape
on and using a hand held jig saw and then I have a drum I can put on the
drill press and use that to dress the edge up... I will practice on the
piece that broke off first. It is a Memphis shades windshield with orange
on the bottom third.
Any suggestions would be helpful as she is only staying for about 24
hours...

200 mile round trip and dinner, she could buy a new one <grin>
use a heavier tape than masking tape, a very fine blade, a ton of
patience (I ain't no doctor so I ain't got any) but I have trimmed
windshields like that before, successfully........
now someone that really knows what they are talking about can tell you
the right way to do it!

What do you mean by "she broke the bottom corner off her windshield a
sliver"?
A crack is not a mere "sliver".
That's a major CRACK, you dopey fuck! :)
Just replace the SOB, before it shatters off.
They can not be "repaired".
ANYBODY that says a crack in the windshield can be repaired, is a
fibbing SOB... and should be kicked in their balls, HARD!
DO not even TRY to "fix it".
How would you do it anyway, so that it has the clear and distortion free
optics?
YOU CAN'T!
Toss it!
The dollars it would could cost to "repair", far outway the cost of a
brand new one that can SAFELY be cut down... let alone replace with a
new crystal clear one!
Don't trust my opinion? Swell!
Also, advise her how to ride on all surfaces.

Rob apparently can't read, and would rather insult and rant instead.
