This just seems wrong on so many levels:
http://tinyurl.com/6xjbeu

He runs from CHP at 140 mph on a Kawasaki on a highway.  Stops for gas.
Then speeds off again.  Ditches bike at a campground.  Runs off to hide in
cave by river.  Sheriff dog finds him and bites him into submission.  Then
he's booked for $28,000 in a town 50 miles away.

This has been played on the radio and TV ad naseum.  Evil motorcyclists.  So
why did he stop?

Odd part was, I passed that area this evening and guess what?  CHP was
targeting motorcyclists and had a bunch of Harleys pulled over.  Probably
pissed that this guy out ran them and handed jurisdiction over to local
sheriff.  Couldn't be targeting Harley's for speed since they aren't ever
speeding in a pack - or rarely.  Maybe passing on a double yellow to catch
up to their buddies.  Oh, their buddies were far, far ahead of them (I saw
them going the other way) and probably never knew they were
missing-in-action.

Great.  Now I need to fear all cops for a while for this guy's stunt.

Maybe he didn't have time to fully refuel before
the deputies arrived at the gas station.

Well yeah, and the riding season's still young too.
I'm sure somebody else's dumbass stunt will put this
guy to shame before the summer's over.

As well you should.  FBI usta tell cops that bikers had turned their
handlebars into shotguns in order to blast poor unsuspecting LEOs.  Wonder
how many riders got whacked over that lie.

Now the "outlaw biker" they hassle is most likely a lawyer who'll screw them
in court or an OB/GYN who'll otherwise ruin their weekend.
