The wife and I rode the VStar950 on a group ride to The World Golf
Village near St Augustine today and the Concour's De Elegance Riding
into History event. It was by far the largest group ride I have ever
been involved in with some 200+ bikes for 55 miles. With a police
escort, we rode non stop through all of the stop lights but the bike
got quite a work out with lots of speeding up and slowing down going
on within the group. Lots of shifting and braking. Considering the
number of riders and bikes it was amazing that it came off as smoothly
as it did. The Bike Show was absolutely terrific with a few hundred
antique bikes all set up in a beautiful setting at the World of Golf
Village. I found these pictures of the event at the following link
that someone else has already put up on the net. Enjoy!

Oh, WOW!
Some great bikes there, especially those nicely modded BMWs.

Wtf? I mean, WTFF??
And that yellow enclosed Gold Wing trike.... Loved the slightly tatty
old scooters, too. My kind of show bike.

by the way, is a TriKing, made in the UK by a bloke called Tony Divey,
and I've actually driven one. Hilarious fun. The five-speed transmission
is linked to an auto-box fore-and-aft lever, so you change gear "one
foreward and four back". Incredibly well made.
The paratrooper's bike was called a Welbike, btw. "Escape bike" my arse!
Paras don't "escape". They rode those bikes into battle as hard as they
could (though I suspect walking might have been quicker).
Lovely, lovely pix. Thanks.

Wow. Like normal riding doesn't involve that ;-)
