Last Saturday presented the first opportunity of the season to enjoy a
ride to the Rockies.

Here are a few pictures and a short narrative of the day.

Although I was a little road weary by the time I got home it was a
great day and a terrific ride.

Don't you ever get sick of all that picture-postcard scenery?  Geez,
a guy could get burned out looking at all that beauty.  :^)

This one is my favorite:

Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of spending some time
riding in Maine. Once in October, pretty much at the peak of the fall
colours. One evening I asked my hosts if they ever took for granted
the beauty of their corner of the world. Barry didn't hesitate for a
second before he answered "Never"

The Prairies aside I can't think of an area I have ridden where I have
not been impressed with sights, sounds and scents to be experienced on
two wheels. For the total experience, there is just no other way to
travel.

This year I will add two more spectacular areas to my list of
favorites, LaCrosse and Moab.

But yeah, after tasting them all, I am a little partial to the Rockies

Arcadia is intense, but there's something about the Canadian
Rockies ( or Northern Rockies, at least ) - the colder weather has led
to much less aging over the eons, I think ...... very raw, very .... I
dunno .... 'different' ????
