We left Roswell, GA Thursday morning and rode the Blue Ridge Parkway
from start to finish, then sort of meandered home. We spent 4 days
riding in VA, NC, TN and GA before coming home Sunday 1500 miles later.
In the Waynesboro/Staunton VA area and southwest of there Saturday, we
saw several hundred Harleys in 3 different places gathering for rides.
Was there something going on (charity ride for example) in VA Saturday,
or is that typical for the area in the spring? I'm sure there are
gatherings of this scale in Georgia from time to time, but I haven't
seen them.

A lot of Harleys sitting in the local dealership too. Sales guy said sales
are flat and they're losing a lot of sales to the younger crowd who prefer
faster sport bikes that are much cheaper.
Seems a lot more of sportbikes appearing in So. Cal of late, not to mention
a weekly death of one of their younger riders too like this one yesterday:
