Craig Vetter's Alcan -- getting serious about Alaska. Looks like
it would also keep me dry in rainy west-coast winter weather
(as long as I kept moving):

Looks more like a heat shield to re-enter our atmosphere from orbit.
But then again I guess his products never were very stylish.

The Windjammer II didn't look so bad, once you got used to the angular
look
and the Vetter saddlebags matched that style very well.

I always thought the Vetter Quicksilver fairing was pretty nice
looking.

1. It won't keep you up on two wheels in the slippery silt on the
Alaska Highway.

2. It won't keep a grizzly bear from eating you.

3. It won't help the bike haul 100+ pounds of extra gear needed for
the trek.

That is the stupidest looking fairing I've ever seen.

Jeeps have certain advantages over motorcycles.

1. They stay upright by themselves and you don't have to wrestle with
them when they aren't moving to avoid capsizing.

2. No Jeep sidestand ever sank into the mud or hot blacktop, allowing
the Jeep to fall over, 'cause Jeeps don't have sidestands.

3. If a big truck ahead of a motorcycle throws a bunch of mud on your
faceshield, you have to stop and clean it.

4. If you're driving a Jeep you can use the windshield washer and the
wipers to keep on going.

5. If your motorcycle falls over on the Alaska Highway, you might need
somebody to stop and pick you up.

6. If your Jeep gets stuck in the mud, just put in in 4WD low range
and drive out.

7. If you're cold and wet and tired, you'll have to stop and set up
camp and sleep in your wet gear if you're riding a motorcycle.

8. You won't get cold and wet in your Jeep and you can stop anywhere
off the road and rest while you run the engine to keep the heater
going.

9. You can carry 5 gallons of extra gas on a motorcycle, but the
weight up high
will unbalance the load.

10. You can easily carry 20 gallons of extra gas on the back of your
Jeep and it just helps your rear wheel traction.
