Yesterday, as I've done a few time in the past, I set up
a unix .forward file to replicate my mail on a second host.
I've got a peculiar email situation at work, where I've got one
username in our old unix domain and a second one in a new
corporate exchange domain.
Everything targeted to my old unix username continued to
work normally. The exchange mail seemed to be having
problems, so I removed it from the forwarding file.
About 6:20 am, I got a call from an admin in India informing
me that I had unleashed some mail deviltry and I turned off all
other forwarding.
Checking my mail, I found that all mail to my exchange
username had arrived in quadruplicate, along with emails
from various other employees informing me that they'd
been bcc'd on the same private emails by the server. Also
an email from my bosses boss, asking WTF was going
on.
It's not really clear if all 17,500 employees were getting
copied on my email or only a select few. I expect to find
out on Monday.
I suspect I've now achieved visibility beyond my wildest
imagination. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Computers are like cages in traffic: they're all out to Get you.
And they will, given the least lapse in vigilance. In this way they're
like all other contraptions invented by man's ingenuity: inherently
evil, with the exception of motorcycles. (My g/f doesn't believe in
this exception, despite my best efforts to convince her.)

While the loop is still up, post out some of Henry's paranoid drivel, so
that the whole world will be "informed". Then, he will be redundant and can
be killed.

I thank God that I figured out long ago I didn't really want email
from the denizens of reeky showing up at my workplace. This
was shortly after Adny's "Kill all cats" posting.
Folks who don't know all our colorful online characters might just
possibly find typical reeky banter a little alarming.
Anyway, you're telling me that Henry's mails are not already
the product of an email loop ? You're saying the loop is in
his head ?
