Calgary?
Yeah it appears so. It was minus 29 when I woke up this morning and it
didn't warm up much all day.
Here's what our local paper had to say:
On its website wx-now.com, Weather Now at one point listed the Calgary
area as among the coldest places in the world Tuesday morning, trailing
only Antarctica.
Weather Now, run by Chicago-based independent consultant David
Braverman, collects data from 2,500 airports in the U.S. and another
1,000 around the world provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA).
But because the website does not include data from many towns and
cities, places like Sundre, Alta., which hit a record -39.3C, didn’t
appear on the list, but were actually colder than the Antarctica
station, said Braverman.
------------------------------
Too cold, too soon.
And no one was riding a motorcycle around here today.

I don't know how motorcyclists survive your long, cold, dark
winters. Here in northern Virginia, where the average COLDEST day of
the year in mid-January features a high of 42-degrees F, and a low of
22-degrees, is cold enough for me, thank-you.
When we get a stretch of January or February weather when it doesn't
hit freezing for 4-5 days in a row, I am ready to throw in the towel
and move south.
You guys are made of sterner (much sterner) stuff.
Obviously.
(Today was unseasonably mild, upper 40's when I rode in to work at
5:30 am, and low 60's with light rain on the way home this afternoon.)

And the winter has just started. I suspect we will have more of this
gift to share with you before spring. <g>
