I suppose riding a VW trike put me somewhere on the margins of Reeky,
but I recently found something very cool (and affordable) but distinctly
beyond the fringe: a VW-based replica like this:
http://www.bugattirevue.com/revue25/faux.htm
Actually it looks a lot less showy than that; more like this one:
http://www.zaniroli.com/princesses2000/rinaldi_bugatti.fr.html
I haven't bought it yet; there are a few issues to settle such as
Air-Care (emissions inspection); where I'm going to keep it (driveway
is full of motorcycles); security; no rain protection, although I could
probably cobble together some kind of roof (at the risk of scandalizing
Bugatti purists); the cockpit is cramped and uncomfortable and you have
to climb in Dukes of Hazzard style and there's no storage space (what
did I expect on a racing car?) and the only real advantage to the thing
is that I'll get a lot of attention, except that if I keep talking about
it here I'll probably get hauled up before the Un-Reekian Activities
Committee (but I can plead that at least it has motorcycle-like wheels).

Nah, it's kool. Much more appropriate than most of the OT crap that
pollutes the place.
let us know when you get the thang, and what it's like!

Maybe a Morgan three wheel replica ?
http://morgan3w.de/
You'd still get cramped, uncomfortable, lack of storage, Dukes
of Hazzard entry and lots of attention without having to stoop to
adding a fourth wheel. Hell, you could probably even add an
aftermarket oil leak if you tried hard.

No need. Morgan three-wheelers came with them already installed.
Not to mention the termites.

My MG-TD had wooden floorboards - as well as a graphite throwout bearing.
