Once I get my shit together ... hah hah ... [just after the leopard
changes his spots] I'm gonna get set up with a workshop to tinker
with my bikes, especially the derelicts.
Then I see this ad for an '07 Triumph Scrambler frame (motor and wheels
removed to build a custom bobber) with regi papers at an affordable
price (~$450 Cdn).
So all I gotta do is find a bent bike with a runnning motor and I'll
have one of those evil nasty vile Hinckley Triumph scramblers that
TOG warned me about. I hate to think what he's gonna say. Especially
when I show up at his front door in Chile with the thing! (Having
hitched a ride down there on a freighter).
I might not even put in a Triumph motor. Plenty of running bikes
show up for sale without papers. That means getting creative with
the angle grinder and drill press. (I wonder if I could squeeze
a GSX-750R motor in there).
SQ - Paddy lay back, Paddy lay back!
Take in the slack, take in the slack!
Take a turn around the capstan, heave away! (heave away!)
About ship's stations, boys, be handy,
For we're bound for Valparaiso 'round the Horn!

RThat sounds like a decent project.

Stick a Harley engine in it.

feck THAT! Now a BSA motor or a 500cc MZ lump might be more fun.

Ok, it's a done deal - $850 bought me the frame plus gas (or petrol
in Olde English) tank, rear shocks, seat, mirrors, pegs, signal lights,
bars and various other shiny bits. All brand new stock, essentially
unused. So there's my Triumph Bonneville (almost). Now what's next
on my list?
SQ
'06 Zuk S40 / '85 Dnepr MT-11 / various some-fine-day projects

Very cool. This one sounds like a fun winter project. FWIW I will keep
an eye open around here for a busted 07 or compatible Triumph.
