Anybody "key" their spark plugs to squeeze out more performance?

I was reading this:

http://www.carbibles.com/fuel_engine_bible.html#20061105   //"Keying
your spark plugs"

Seems that by aligning the electrode gap to the intake valves by
following the preceding method for seating spark plugs, you can eek
out additional performance.

Being a non-wrencher, I'd like to know what on the outside of the bike
tells you where the intake valves are in each head on a V-twin... with
EFI.

Although a better idea would be to correct the problem with the valve
timing that causes the spark to fire while the intake valve is still open.
How else is the spark going to fire the "incoming fuel-air charge"?

You know Stephen!, if you don't use one of these?   -->  :-)   <--
It's real hard to tell if you're being serious or not. I suspect that
you *may* be joking around and hence I *may* have been wrong about
your intellect earlier, in which case I apologize. But really, if
you're going to kid around like that, could you please use something
to let us know?

Um. Unless your *are* being serious...

Actually it was only in half-jest.  My point was if the plug fires
while the air is still coming in ("incoming fuel-air charge") then
there's a problem with the timing...  It was more a comment on their
choice of terms rather then the ridiculous idea that this would have any
appreciable effect in an other-than-ancient engine...

...or are you going to tell me that the plugs really do fire while the
valve is still open?  *  ;)  *

Champion used to sell a box of indexing washers of varying thicknesses for
the plugs.   I had one in the garage somewhere.  Mostly for the racer guys.
