When you plaster your name on everything from $20.00
ice tea mugs to tee shirts costing nearly as much,
someone is going to hat you, I mean hate you. Ask
Microsoft, man.

Piddy -- much better to be a cheerful drunk than a nasty one.

"piddy"

That's exactly what people like about HD: brand recognition. It's worth the
extra few thousand dollars because it lets people feel they belong to the
group. HD used to build crappy bikes, so the bikes got a well-deserved
reputation for breaking down all the time. The magic of advertising sold the
image as an "american icon". Better engineering turned the company around;
the bikes are pretty good these days. HD is sold to people who don't want
their friends to see them on any other brand. It's a great example of the
brand being more important then the product. Each key fob, coffee mug,
earring they sell with the ND logo on it only widens the reach of the brand
and adds to the comfy feeling of being accepted that HD owners love. Instant
status instant belonging into the HD cult, I mean, family. Just don't drink
any orange or black Kool-Aid if you go to a rally, and you'll be fine...

It's all harmless fun.

I think nealry 80% of the used bikes in our local paper are Harley's.  I say
they're reaching critical glut.

A near miss, I hope.

People buying Harleys today are idiots.  They don't realize the bottom
is going to drop put of the market on July 17, leaving their hawgs
worth 34% of what they paid for them.

I think the figure I saw quoted was 36%, and it was going to happen on
July 22. But, then again, the 22nd falls on a Saturday, so you might be
right, lol...lol.

   Best regards,
