Hi,

Last bike was an 1986 Suzuki Cavalcade that my wife and I rode all over
the continent on.  Sold in in 1995 for an RV so the boys (3) and us can
go camping.  The boys are moving on now so wife and I want to get back
into the saddle.  Why is everything a V twin?  Why is a Goldwing 1800cc?
What happened to the inline four standards?

We figure maybe something around 1000cc we could ride most of the day
on.  Don't need a Wing.  Don't want to hump a gas tank.  Need something
low to the ground for my 25" inseam.

Don't need smartass comments!  :-)

The local dealer has five brands, Yamaha, Suzuki, Star, Honda, and
Kawasaki, they all look alike, V twins.  Is there anything else out there?

Thanks,

Tim

I sympathize. Don't know what I'll do to replace my R -100.
Check out the Honda ST 1100 - 4 cyl. - shaft drive - travel cases.

Cruiser riders liked the Harley look and the low-rpm V-twin concept.

So it can easily haul a 250-lb middle-aged dude and his 200-lb wife.

The motorcycle manufacturers tried to resurrect them, after the
magazines succeeded in convincing the priding public that V-twins and
V-4's were superior.

But very few riders wanted an I-4 standard. They either wanted a
sportbike with an I-4, or a V-twin cruiser.

How about a Yamaha Royal Star Tour? It's a V-4 with the same basic
engine design as the Venture and the V-Max.

Are you at a point in life where a trike would make sense?
Maybe buy a bike you like and convert it?  It's not cheap from what
I've read though.
