Yes, an unfortunate title for a post, especially this close to West
Hollywood.
Anyway, turns out by Cobra exhaust does, in fact, have baffles. They appear
to be easy to remove, assuming the philips head screws aren't frozen solid.
Now I plan to pack the baffles with whatever material Cobra recommends.
I'll be calling them tomorrow for more information.
What I'd like to know is, are there any tricks to getting this going? Do I
need to try to hold the packing stuff with my hand while I squeeze it, and
the baffle, into the pipe? The pipes aren't built like a blunderbuss, so
this may get tricky. Perhaps I can fabricate some sort of funnel or
something?
There's six of these damn things, and there isn't much room for much.
Thanks again,
CS

Wrap the baffle with fiberglass, then wrap one or two layers of the
widest masking tape you can find around the fiberglass and push the
assembly up the muffler.
The next time you repack the baffle, you'll find that the masking tape
has the consistency of a dessicated, burnt leaf...

Use a hamster to temporarily hold the packing in place ...

Wrap the 'glass with aluminum foil before you stuff the baffles back in .
Though the wide tape idea has merit too . Doesn't take much packing to make
a lot of difference in exhaust note .
