I have a Honda Shadow 600 (but might buy something bigger in the future).
Weight: about 450 lbs.
Occasionally, I'd like to take off the front or rear wheels, do a little
inspection and maintenance, etc.
What is the best stand to buy for that kind of thing? Is there a good
product out there?
Also, it should be pointed out that I'm an apartment dweller. So, I'd need
to carry the stand back in after I'm done with the work.
Thanks, Dave.

You probably don't even need a stand. Put the bike on the
centerstand. Use a tiedown strap to tie the centerstand in
place so it can't retract. Remove one wheel and stick a
milk crate in place to keep it from tipping if somebody
put their weight on that end of the bike.

I don't think a VLX Shadow has a centerstand.
