Hey guys, I changed my nickname to d@$h, it used to be just "Andrew"
Here are my previous topics to jog your memory of me:

Anyways, back to the actual topic!
I just spend 400 miles driving (to Louisville from Owensboro, to
Hopkinsville to drop the bike off, back to Owensboro, all in KY) to
pick up my new Kawasaki Ninja 250cc!
It's my first bike, and I'm pretty amped.
Here's what it looks like:

1996 Kawasaki Ninja 250cc, ~10k miles on it.
Runs great, had a new oil change, has a slight tick sound while
driving for first ~20 mins (but I dont care).
TOTAL COST: $670 with matching DOT approved helmet.
My question is, GOOD DEAL? or not?
Oh, and discuss your first bikes, how much they cost, etc.

I think you did well here. New those are $3000 plus.
I have been thinking about a bike around that size or slightly larger,
400-600. Funny they call these bikes "entry level" bikes but I think you can
have a wonderful time on these lighter bikes. they are way less $$$ too.
I know that is an extremely popular bike.
I had a 1963 Yamaha YDS2 250cc twin two-stroke, 5 speed "street bike" that
was 369# with 25hp. I thought that was pretty fast. I think your new 250
would eat it up.
Have fun and be careful.

If you like it and it fits your needs, it's a great deal. I've often thought
about picking up one of those little demons for around town when I don't
want to drive the car or get the ST outta the stable.

In 1974 I traded a slightly tired '66 El Camino for a tired '66 BSA 650 and
some cash. I had a case of motorcycle fever.
Dumbest thing I ever did re: vehicle sale/trades.
Wasn't my first motorcycle but it was my first streetbike.

Congrats! Looks like new. Good deal :)
My first bike, if you can call it that, was a 1952 Vespa bought for
$25 in 1966 for use off road.
My first street bike was a 1971 Kawasaki 500 triple (two stroke)
bought for $800 in 1972.
