500 bucks, it runs (sort of), and it came with about 1000 bucks worth of
spare parts and accessories.
Hot damn! My ship has come in. ;-)

I find myself occasionally scanning ebay for old bikes, bikes from
when I started riding and were all serious bad boys back then.
Always wanted a V65.

Well, if not already, you'll want to become intimately familiar
with http://www.sabmag.org/
Maybe, the best place to spend some initial time is:

yep, I was a Sabmaggot for many years. Had an 85 V65 Magna and a 85
700 Magna...loved them both.
And I agree...get *real* intimate with sabmag.org. They're a GREAT
bunch and will tell you what to look for, how to repair and what parts
you hold onto with your life.

I hate to tell you this, but you got WAY more than $1k worth of accessories. You
have the only sliding backrest on a V65 Sabre I've ever seen. You can get over
$500 just for that spare fairing and mounting brackets. The tall backrest on
that Magna will go for over $300.
As the others have said, dig into www.sabmag.org (which appears to be down at
the moment) Don't give up. David Hill runs the thing and he's a newlywed again.
It'll be back up when he comes up for air.
In the mean time, take a look at http://wiki.sabmagfaq.org/ which has a lot of
the most current info on your bike. To join the mailing list, see
http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/sabmag I highly recommend joining this
list if you're going to be putting this bike back in order, or if you want to
sell off any of the spare parts.
I read the mailing list every day. I'll be watching for you.
