I really like the look of this bike. Everybody's cruisers nowadays
looks like a "custom" of some sort. Gotta admit - I like the Suzuki
M109, having seen it in the wild a few times (looks better than it
does on a showroom floor), but with all this custom look mania, I'm
glad to see these guys still producing old school bikes that will
stand out in a world of custom cruisers...

I took a couple of Suzuki test rides yesterday. I was riding a
Burghman scooter and a V-Strom 1000. The M109s were going around
corners in a sawtooth fashion. The scooters and the V-Stroms were
leaving the big twins in the dust.
Interestingly, the V-Strom is a 90 degree V-twin with astounding
power. It produces just about 100 hp but seems like a whole lot
more. My guess is that maximum hp is realized somewhere between 6000
and 7000 RPM (9500 redline).

I should have said, bucking the custom trend... But I hear ya... I
would think most 600 and up sportbikes could wipe any cruiser made -
maybe not off the block, but in the 1/4 mi. I was focusing primarily
on the look of the bike. Before I'd actually buy a Triumph 850, I'd
like to know how it performs and might not buy it after that :)-

I would race a 600 sportbike.
First one to 1000 miles wins. ;-)

If I could just convince myself I wouldn't mind a chain I might
consider trading in my ST1100 for a VStrom, but I think I'll trade it
for an ST1300.
But then I really want to give the Moto Guzzi Norge a try ... I'd be
back on a V-Twin with that, and I put nearly 125,000 miles on my 1977
Guzzi T3-FB.
