hear me out folks.  My son has a CRB 600.  He's been in Iraq the last
8 months, and my job has been to start his 600 every week.  Well, some
moron (me), left the ignition on after cutting off the motor... hours
later, dead battery.

I don't ride bikes, so I need to go get a battery and install it
before he gets home (soon!).  I went through the owner's manual, and I
didn't see anything on how to replace the battery.  I'm mechanically
inclined, so can anyone give me a clue?

Thanks

I think you mean a Honda CBR 600?

The battery is mostlikely under the seat.  There are 2 bolts at the back of
the seat (10mm or 12mm) that hold it in place.  You may have to push the
seat foam back to find them.

Good luck.

Just charge it.  In fact, a Battery Tender Jr will cost a lot
less than a new battery, and make a nice little present for him, too.
Plus keep it charged.

I guess you don't know what a battery charger is either ???

Take off the seat, likely released with the ignition key in a tumbler on the
side somewhere.  The battery may be there.
If not, take off the side covers on each side, likely removed with one or
two screws each.
If you STILL don't see the battery OR you see it and can't figure out how to
remove it..............you don't hardly qualify as "mechanically inclined".

Clue: To charge the battery, you only need to FIND it; it can be charged in
place.
