You just find the best stuff on the Internet.  How did we ever survive
without it.

Although I had the gear driven cams installed a couple of years ago, I
am still interested in the stock tensioners in the early TC 88s.

If you have any interest in the damage the original tensioners can
cause when they grenade, here is an excellent pictorial.

Of interest is the fix used in this instance was not of the gear
driven variety I opted for, but the hydraulic tensioner conversion.

Seems to work pretty well.

To be fair this bike had 40k miles on it when the outer tensioner let
go. Considering the outer tensioner is easy to check and it is
recommended they be checked long before you reach the 40k milestone,
this repair could have been avoided.
