A few years ago, I bought a 5 gallon carbon fiber fuel tank for my
Honda NT650 Hawk from a Japanese American guy who custom built them to
order. He lived and worked in the southern California area, and I
can't remember his name. He made all sorts of goodies for Hawks and
the larger V-Twins that were produced after it. I haven't used it yet,
but would like to. I have been reading about problems with some
resins deteriorating in the presence of methanol now used in motor
fuel. I need to find out what kind of resins were used in this tank.
If anyone can remember him, I'd be most grateful.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I *really* doubt you can find
any gasoline for sale at a regular gas station that has methanol in it.

Because they use ethanol, not methanol.

My mistake, either would cause the problem, though.

Just barrier coat the inside with something like POR-15.
