Hi, I have a quick newbie question that I couldn't find by searching
the group. I was in tha garage working on my Honda CX500. I noticed
that when in gear with the clutch lever pulled all the way in (clutch
disengaged) that the back wheel still spins slowly. I can easily stop
it, but when I let go it starts spinning again. Is this normal? I
didn't notice it when riding just when I put it on the center stand. I
guess my question really is: Should the clutch lever totally disengage
the clutch so that the wheel is completely free? Do I need to adjust
my clutch cable? Thanks.

There's nothing wrong, that behavior is completely normal for a
multi-plate wet clutch, which is the type of clutch the majority
of bikes have.

The 1970 SL125 motor in my CB100 has a good bit of drag with it. It is
difficult to put into neutral, without carefully slipping the clutch. The
1971 CB100 motor exhibited the same. I haven't tried it with Honda's
later pushrod motors.
The Savage slips out of gear very easy. I imagine that the type of
lubricant, construction of the clutch material and number of discs affect
the amount of unclutched drag.

Oil drag. Harmless. Ignore.
