There's a cold, drenching rain outside... or is it?

Environment Canada says 48F (13C), which is warm compared to
a true winter rain around here... so why does it feel so cold?
Maybe my bod isn't acclimatized to winter yet. By March, a day
like this would feel like spring.

Meanwhile, the Wile E. Coyote/Roadrunner country is starting
to seem more and more attractive. Beep beep.

I'd like to visit the lakes of Minnesota where the rippling waters flow,
but in decent weather, on my Harley Cannonball:

 From the great Atlantic ocean
To the wide Pacific shore
From the green New Hampshire mountains
To the Southland's Cajun lore

It's mighty tall and handsome
Admired by one and all
An Ultra Classic tour bike
The Harley Cannonball

Listen to the jingle
The rumble and the roar
An Electra Glide in woodland
Over the hills and by the shore

Hear the mighty rush of engine
Hear the staggered duals call
As I ride along the blacktop
On the Harley Cannonball

Now the western states are dandy
So the Southern people say
 From Chicago and St. Louis
And Peoria by the way

To the lakes of Minnesota
Where the rippling waters flow
No chances need be taken
On a Harley Cannonball

I pulled into a truck stop
One cold December day
As I rolled up to the gas pump
I could hear the people say

There's a bike from old Milwaukee
It's long and it's tall
The rider's down from Canada
On his twin-cam Cannonball

Here's to Harley and to Davidson
May their names forever stand
And always be remembered
On the Road throughout the land

Their earthly tour is over
The mists around them fall
They'll ride right on to Glory
On a V-twin Cannonball

Roadrunners are a large cuckoo that mostly runs on the ground to find
prey.

Sometimes I see roadrunners as I ride through the rolling hills of the
San Joaquin valley, but they are more common in the Mojave desert.

One time I was dirtbike riding and I stopped to rest. I saw a
roadrunner about 50 feet away. It was headed north through the
greasewood. About 100 feet away, there was another roadrunner, headed
the same way. And 150 feet away, there was a third roadrunner going
the same way.

It was as if they had organized a sort of group hunt for lizards, with
one roadrunner catching the prey missed by the one that flushed it
out...

Roadrunners have adapted to living in a harsh environment where water
and food is scarce by cannibalizing their own brood when necessary.
That sort of behavior is not so uncommon, eagles kill their own weaker
young and feed them to the stronger eaglet when they cannot find food.

I'm sure that could be more accurately phrased :-)

As it is, I have the vision of a flock of DIY roadrunners, with their
heads stitched on backwards.
