I thought I had posted them here but I guess not.
Better late than never. This early October ride raised money for St. Jude's
children research hospital. About 500 riders through the concrete canyons of
NYC.

The ride started in Weehawken, NJ, through the Lincoln Tunnel into NYC. First
stop was the financial district with a stop at the World Trade Center site,
then many different areas of the city as you can see from the photos.

Ah Ok, it loses something in this context, but those pictures looked
like a lot of riding in the friction zone.
That's a fine cause though and it looks like the ride was a success.

The format is unique, at least I haven't seen it used elsewhere. The
riders register and pay a fee of $500.00. The fee covers food lodging
gas, etc. for the three day ride. Riders then collect pledges from
family, friends or business associates for the Foundation.
I have a couple of friends who partake in the ride every year.
Depending on the timing I am going to give it a shot myself this
spring.

Not bad riding at all because there was a full police escort and traffic was
held back so we were (legally) going through red lights and such.
If you noticed, I took some pictures standing out in the middle of the FDR
because the cages were not allowed in. On the very last frame they opened the
gates and there is a cab coming at me in the distance. :-)
Now the time members of my club entered the Greenwich Village Halloween parade
on their bikes, that was another story. Overheating galore.
