This is copied from another forum.  Step by step instructions on one
way to do a simple custom paint job.

Where did I leave that rattle can?

*******************************

I've done threads like this before, where I show a step-by-step guide
to how I do some of these paint jobs, here's another one I thought you
might enjoy! There's a number of different methods/ways to paint
something, depending on a variety of factors. For this particular job
the method used might be quite different than with another job, like I
said, each one is handled a little differently....

At any rate, this one's a VTX1300R with some custom work to the
fenders. The rear fender will house (2) round LED's, one per side,
they will be the run/turn/brakes.....

Shot the RED basecoat first, then taped off the pinstripes with 1/16"
fine line tape, before shooting metallic silver......

Then I taped over the silver flames, sprayed a blue metallic basecoat,
and added shadows under the pinstripes....

Started peeling back the tape.......

And all the tape is off. Now they get 3 coats of clear. Once that
dries, I'll wet-sand it smooth and start the second layer of
graphics....
