So excited. Just moved to Daytona to prepare for our next motorcycle
charity event in March. Do Florida bikers go to Daytona, or is it just
motorcycle riders from the rest of the country?

No :)
Actually, there is a big complex of dealers (HD, Duc, BMW) nearby.
Otherwise, I've been there once (For the swap meet) since moving here 3
years ago. Used to go for the AHRMA events during the first part of the
week until all my old geezer buddies left me. Always saw the rest of the
event as a bunch of wannabes rubbing (pun intended) shoulders with other
wannabes whilst imagining themselves in the company of real bikers.
Riding in Florida is disappointing despite the weather. Everything is flat
and if a corner doesn't have a stop sign it is because there is a traffic
light. Beaches are great and there's much to do ... just not much on a
bike. Worse, if you ride near the coast every chrome part that's out in the
wind (mirror stalks, fork legs, etc.) gets sand/salt blasted and rusts.
Learn to love rat bikes ....

The AHRMA races (and the season-opening CCS/ASRA races, too) have been
moved to Roebling Road outside Savannah, GA this year, because the AMA
and the Speedway scheduled the AMA pro motocross races during the
traditional AHRMA/CCS weekend.
I think they may also have moved the date back, to have a better
chance at bearable weather in Savannah.
I may be going; not sure yet. That's the traditional date for my
annual Daytona trip.
