Has nothing to do with motorcycles.

I had been looking for a small backhoe attachment for a long time.  Yesterday
there was a good looking prospect in the local trader paper.  I called the
number and the owner said he wouldn't be home until 4 but I was welcome to go
look at it, and he gave me the address.

What he failed to mention was that it was guarded by an unchained pit bull.  I
was driving my '05 Mazda3, the one that didn't even have a parking lot ding.
Didn't.

I stopped at the piece of equipment and the dog came out.  I decided immediately
that I wasn't going to get out.  The longer I sat there and looked at the
equipment, the more enraged the dog became.  He started *attacking my car*.  I
decided it was time to leave.  I backed away from the equipment and he ran to
the back of the car and started biting the bumper.  I started forward and he ran
to the front of the car and started biting the bumper.  I hit the public road
and he was still there, jumping on my hood and biting at the grille.  This went
on for 100 yards or more until he finally got off to one side long enough for me
to outrun him.  I didn't want to run over him because I didn't want to tear off
the air dams.  I went about 1/2 mile and then got out to check the damage.  Claw
marks and teeth marks all over the front of the car.

I went back home and got my '94 F150 with 257,000 miles on it and went back.
Same thing.  The longer I sat there, the more enraged he became.  I backed out
and started to the public road.  He did the front grille thing.  When I hit the
public road and was sure I had traction, I hit the gas.

Nice doggie.  Bump bump.  See doggie fall.  See doggie try to hold up 5,000
pounds of spinning truck wheel with his belly.  See doggie try to run back home
with his guts hanging out of his ass.

Today I'll go back and pick up the backhoe.

I don't have any problem with someone using a dog to protect their stuff but
there are limits.   When a dog follows me onto  a public road and damages my car
because he's stupid, I'm going to remove him from the gene pool.

Good work. I love pit bulls, but when they get out of line, it's time
to lay the icy hand of death upon them. I don't blame you one bit.

Did it occur to you that the dog might have dug out from a fenced-in area,
or managed to open a door that he wasn't supposed to be able to open, or in
some other manner managed to escape while the dog's owner was under the
impression that the dog was adequately contained?  Assuming the dog even
belonged to the backhoe owner (which has not been established), don't you
think it would have been proper to ask the dog owner to reimburse you for
damage done to your car?  Like, maybe give you the backhoe for free or a
substantial discount (to cover a paint job on your car)?  What if the
backhoe was guarded by a teenage kid who went berzerk and attacked your car
with a baseball bat?  You gonna run that teenage kid over with a pickup
later?  Sheesh.  You intended to kill a dog, and that's what you did.  You
had other options, but didn't even consider them.  Are you happy now that
you've just ruined the dog owner's whole year?  It takes a long time to
recover from the loss of a pet.  In contrast, if that dog owner had offered
to re-paint your car, you would have been upset about the wrecked paint for
what . . . 48 hours maybe????  -Dave

Fuck that.. A dog that vicious isn't anything but a public menace.. That dog
need-
ed to be put down before it attacked a kid or some other person who drifted
into
it's range..
