Have AMSOIL synthetic grease in a grease gun. Use it sparingly for this and
that (joints on shift linkages, etc.).
Does the stuff ever age or expire before it is put into service?

Google up the Material Safety Data Sheet for the product, find out
what the CAS number for the synthetic oil used in the grease is, and
read up on whether or not it
oxidizes.

It's at least a couple million years old when it hits yer shelf. A few
more months isn't going to make much of a difference.
