Since Honda in Marysville is a supplier to Harley Davidson (and many
others as well) does anyone know what would happen to HD motorcycles
if Honda stopped supplying parts to them.
Some people have voiced alarm about this. Does anyone know what Honda
supplies to Harley Davidson?
The Marysville plant has already stopped producing some motorcycle
models and will cease all motorcycle production early next year. The
plant is being converted to make suspension components.

The only thing I can think of that Honda, through a subsidiary, may supply
to H-D is suspension parts so that would seem to be a winner.
Does Honda own Showa?
There is always going to be someone else willing to supply the largest
manufacturer of motorcycles in N. America.

Yeah and Marysville was a final assembly place anyway. The parts
mostly if not all came from Japan. They were just bolted them
together in Marysville.

I visited Marysville in 2002 and that was my impression too. Engines
came from another plant, and components came from a lot of places near
and far with many smaller local suppliers as well. It's a LOT of the
local economy. I was told Honda was Ohio's largest employer. Hope they
keep making cars there just to keep the good people of Ohio employed.
I'm not worried about HD, they can certainly fend for themselves
regarding suppliers.
I need to go back down to York and visit the HD plant. I had a trip
planned last year to get there and the Martin guitar factory but life
got in the way. PA is a great place to ride. I went hungry there.
