Yeah a guy I ride with told me they have something like an open race day for
each class of bike as long as you have your racing license and its not a
blown bike, but im not sure about all of that. I did however want to go hit
the track there, it is a very nice place to ride from what i am told. thanks

here is a nice listing of dragstrips state by state.... the link should take
you to Virginia.. you can click on the facilities name for more information,
and to links to the sites for those facilities.

I run both, but I only race heads-up in the eight-mile. The reason is
because my ZX7R can't beat a GSXR1000 in the quarter-mile unless its a
bracket race. But the eight-mile separates the guys who have actual
talent from the ones who just rely on brute horsepower -- it's all
about RT and the 60.

I see.  Thanks for the explanation.  Are there any races where bikes
are matched against identical (as possible) models so that it is
driver vs driver rather than hp vs hp?

I've seen on the speed channel that there are dedicated drag bikes
that have pneumatic shifters so you just press a button to change up
instead of shifting properly.

Seems like that takes all the fun out of it.

It's OK.  You only broke your leg in three places.  Walk it off.
