Drive around the water and don't do any burnouts. You'll have
plenty of traction if you get the launch down. Put both feel on
the ground, lean forwards a little, and when it's time to go,
give it heavy throttle and as as much clutch as you can without
breaking the tire loose. You want to keep the engine in the power
band while letting out the clutch as far as you can without buzzing
the tire or wheeling.
As you get rolling, put your feet back on the pegs and lay low
over the bike. Some folks bang the gears without unwinding
the throttle, but that's too abusive for my machines. I ran a
10.74@133 on my very first run with my bone stock '93 ZX-11
using the method above. That was also my quickest run of the
night. My buddy got into the 9s with his Camaro. I got beat
by a cager. Good luck and have fun!

Yeah I ran a 7.3 @ 122mph on my very first run on a Busa and that's pretty
much what I did because I have to ride my bike back home plus I didn't want
to flip it lol

7.3 in the quarter? And it was only trapping at 122? Wow....your Busa must
like get to 122 in a second and then stop out there for that kind of quarter
mile time? Is is this a measure of some other distance?

Once again someone who doesnt read the whole conversation before jumping in
the middle of it. Actualy that was 1/8th mile if you would have read the
whole convo.
thanks much though

I don't see anything about 1/8th mile - so I can understand why some people
were confused. I have never seen a Busa come close to a 7.3 quarter (these
were all stock with the exception of maybe exhaust and other bling you would
expect during a Friday test and tune by non-competitive riders). I'm sure
I'll see the 1/8th mile further down - but don't expect people to read
everything in a thread before responding.
