In the fall the weather doesn't merely get cooler and wetter,
it also gets more active. Winds blow, clouds billow, leaves swirl,
bike covers flap and tear, trees wave, branches drop, mist shrouds,
squirrels scurry, road oil emulsifies, aspens punge, and my bod
(slow to acclimatize) feels chilly.

So I bundle up, dig out my cold weather gear (after an extensive
search), look up at the sky, feel the rain, look at my bike, smell
the clean fresh air, think about Reeky... and take the van. Yeah right.
The path of least resistance (or most comfort).

So I'm a squid. And an wannabe. And wish I were rich enough
to be a RUB.

Each day it isn't pouring seems precious, when good riding days
get rarer each week. A damp day in the low 40's that would feel
like a rip-off in mid summer now seems like a gift from On High,
which it is.

Well it just quit pouring for a bit so I'm gonna unleash the Zook
and let the motor breath a little. See y'on the Road.

Storm came in yesterday and I wussed out too. 2-8 inches of rain,
40-75 mph winds. I actually had the riding pants off the hanger
when I began to think about walking into my broker's office
and dripping a gallon or so of rainwater on his carpet (usually
not appreciated) and trying to dry out soggy papers after I
got home.  Sometimes though, it's actually kinda fun to go play
in the rain.

Anybody got a recommendation for new really, really waterproof
winter gloves ?

Supposed to be spring here. It's been raing for a couple of days and not
fining up till Sunday. The bikes sitting in the shed with a new set if
Metzler M1's that need scrubbing in....and I know there is a Tuono thats
sitting in another shed with a new set of Metzlers, but he's gone for
the M3 rear tyre. Might have to swap bikes for the ride home.....

The govt. has just decided to up the motorcycle ACC tax to &50 a year,
up from $250. This is to reflect that motorcyclists cost more to fix
when they are involved in a crash. 72% of motorcycle ACC costs involve
unregistered off-road bikes......govt. logic knows no bounds......

That should read  "$750 a year, up from $250"
