Just anecdotal observations from this year but it seems like there are
not as many bikers on the road this year but the ones that are there are
better riders.  Seems like I have seen fewer wheelies on the freeway and
fewer stupid accidents where the biker goes off the road and hits
something.  Is this a trend?  Fewer riders is bad for us.  Fewer
accidents and deaths is good.

As long as I'm not the one in the accident, fewer riders really has no
impact on me.  I already have low insurance rates based on a long term
good driving record. I am also no longer in the market for a bike so
if supply shrinks for a bit with the fall off in demand, oh well.

I agree with you about fewer riders though. Fewer bad motorcycle
riders means more bad car drivers!
