It was a glorious perspiring day here in the foothills of the Sierras and
my wife and I were ready to ride. We would love to have gone to Tahoe
but it's just too risky this early in the year. Instead, as is typical
during winter, we decided to head for the valley. We have ridden Hwy. 20
many times between our home and the coast but have never taken the time
to check out Clearlake's south shore.
We headed out just after noon and enjoyed 65 degree temperatures, all but
calm winds, and very light traffic. After poking around a couple of nice
roads, including one that had a small Redwood grove that made us feel we
had been suddenly transported to another world, we stopped at the Knoncti
Resort. This place is a popular concert venue that is very busy in the
summer but was near empty today. We were too late for the brunch buffet
but had a great lunch at the Classic Rock Cafe.
From there is was back home the same way we came, even stopping for a
butt break and fuel at the same place we had stopped earlier, and got
home right at 7:00. Not all that exciting, really, except that it was
the first "long" ride of the year!

It does feel good to get out on the road after a long winter.
Congrats!

Long winter huh?
It's finally supposed to hit 0 here today.

Good deal! Now that the race team is mostly squared away, I need to
concentrate on getting the S4Rs put back together so that I can take
it out for s similar spring ride.
You've inspired me to get to work!
