Not that I need heated gloves during this time of year, but I'm
considering the purchase of these Firstgear Heated Carbon Fiber
gloves:
http://www.firstgear-usa.com/fgweb3.nsf/Products/B68800E1944FA0FF8625734D005C06A2?opendocument
My other two pair of Olympia and Fieldsheer gloves are both size 2XL
and they fit my 9-1/2" hands comfortably without any binding.
According to Firstgear's sizing chart,
http://www.firstgear-usa.com/fgweb3.nsf/Products/18C7058EB1E3133E8625734700658FAC?opendocument
I should order size XL gloves. I realize that heated gear should fit
snugly, but the last thing I want are gloves that may be too small and
bind.
Do any of you folks have experience with Firstgear glove sizes? Is
your experience that their sizing chart is accurate?
If you have any suggestions for other armored, heated gloves, I would
appreciate that too.
Thanks,
Brian

I should add that I've tried Gerbing's size XL heated glove liners
inside my 2XL Fieldsheer gloves, but they're too snug and bind.

My experience with Fieldsheer is that they run small
compared to other gloves that I've owned. Not sure
about Olympia or Firstgear. I got what I think was
a pretty good price on a pair of Fieldsheer winter
gloves by shopping the internet.
Your best bet would be talking to the vendor you're
planning to buy them from to get sizing advice and to
make sure that you can exchange them if you really
need to. Usually too, any review of a glove will make
a note of how the sizing runs, so Google is your friend.

You might be in no man's territory per their chart. I measured my
hand and it is 9" and I've owned a couple of sets of First Gear XL
gloves and they fit me pretty snugly. But these things change. I've
owned a few pairs of AGV XL gloves that fit great, but bought a pair
this winter that had fingers long enough to fit an NBA player.

What is the armor good for besides wrapping on the window of errant
cagers?

Taking a wildass guess, possibly protecting your knuckles
in a crash ? One shop owner I know spoke of putting this to
an unplanned test and said he was glad he was wearing them.
