My front brakes seemed less effective than normal. I discussed possible
root causes with an airplane mechanic at the airport.
He claimed the pads could be glazed. He also caused that the cause of the
glazing can in some cases be little old ladies who start stopping about half
a mile before where they need to. He said in some cases that hard stopping
can get the glazing to wear off. If not, he mentioned a procedure involving
removing the brake pads.
On the other hand, a website mentioned that glazing is caused when the brake
pads get too hot. That really doesn't apply to me, even though I ride like
an old lady.
The brakes seem to be back to normal. I did a few hard stops, but due to my
careless riding, not deliberately.
Any thoughts on brake pad issues?
I'm confident that my hydraulics are OK. Whatever was going on was between
the pads and the rotor.
I don't believe I've had any exposure to oil or other possible contaminants
between the pads and rotor.
Thanks for all, Datesfat.

Ain't nobody here but us "racists" and "trolls".

Don't like 'em? Replace 'em.
(And I'd like to know when the brake fluid was last changed)

If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it. And RTFM.

Hopefully the last time wasn't 20 years ago...
