It's been a rough couple of weeks.  I have had a project where I needed
to carry computer stuff, so I couldn't ride to my customer's site.
Weekends were family obligations where we were either out of town or
had to entertain, although I WAS able to indulge in one of my other
passions last weekend: cooking on the grill (smoked a nice Boston Butt
last Saturday).

The wife won't ride with me over 20 miles and I need a good 500+ mile
stress relief weekend.  My sister-in-law wants to get together Saturday
night for dinner, but I'm thinking 3 days in the mountains.  I'm asking
anyone who understands to pray Saturday dinner falls through.

i hear you! so loud and clear!

in the process of registering for classes, handling a promotion,
closing on and putting up house, and planning a wedding

you have to make time for the little rides when you can, before the
season ends

claim food poisoning
make up a pet's illness
or tell them to come with!

good (bad) luck!

Which is coming soon, especially around here (Vancouver, BC). We've had
our usual First Storm of Fall, meaning that we're past the hottest of
the hot season and from now on its a steady sinusoidal descent into
Winter, and I'm starting to feel like this:

The Water Rat was restless, and he did not exactly know why. To all
appearance the summer's pomp was still at fullest height, and although
in the tilled acres green had given way to gold, though rowans were
reddening, and the woods were dashed here and there with a tawny
fierceness, yet light and warmth and colour were still present in
undiminished measure, clean of any chilly premonitions of the passing
year. But the constant chorus of the orchards and hedges had shrunk
to a casual evensong from a few yet unwearied performers; the robin
was beginning to assert himself once more; and there was a feeling
in the air of change and departure.
