My HID headlight kit came in back in April (?) two weeks after
ordering. I *just* got around to installing it after having to pull the
cowl for a windscreen replacement. It took me a grand total of 30
minutes and 10 of that was sipping coffee while reading the
instructions. It's so simple, it's scary. The lights are much improved
in whiteness and amp draw. Total draw at start up is 6.6 amps and
running is just 3.4! I'll be testing them out tonight when it gets
darker. I'll get some shots tonight and post on my smugmug account with
a link here.
I didn't document the install. It's so freakin' simple that I was done
before I thought about it. Remove the old headlight bulbs, install the
new HID H4 adapters on both sides, twist lock the new bulbs in, connect
about a dozen plugs, ground wires and power wire. You're done. There's
about a .5 second lag when kicking on the high beams. The hardest part
is tying up all the excess wire and stowing it.
Now, off to clean the chain and install the new brake pads.

Isn't there a separate box of some kind that provides a higher voltage (an
electronics package)? Where did you put that?

Zip tied to the front cowling frame. This kit contains the smallest
boxes made for HID lighting. They're just about 1/2"x3"x4" Each light
has one box. The boxes are covered by the inner cowling covers and
totally disappear from view. The kit cost me just $55 plus shipping
